Casa Partida

"I'm afraid to talk about myself with a knife and fork. But CASA PARTIDA is an autobiographical exercise done with the curiosity and love of someone who wants company. I open the door of my house as a writer in inverted commas, looking for tangible readers who will be precarious parents, in time, to the words I feel like a mother to: the domestication of a poem."

Cátia Terrinca

A piece of life that I could only lightly call a performance. A project that began in Belém, when one day I felt the house break. I rushed to the LxFactory, with the support of Daniel Gorjão, and came up with a subtitle - a m a r o corpo a u s e n t - a while ago, at Mindelact, at José Pinto's invitation, I returned to the house. I gave it the same name, but thinking "beginning" "new journey". The dive, the polysemy, the possible complicity with the strangers I am. Now yes: loving the absent body. It's me fleeing to another / inwards. It's me, clear, irrevocable, in permanence, letting myself be seduced by the intimacy of growing up.

A literary experimentation project whose first phase I am organically developing, as a pregnant woman, a mother-to-be, in this prenatal phase, until May 2018. It's an exercise of unlimited duration (in blocks of a maximum of 90 minutes, followed by a 15-minute break) in which I simulate umbilical communication with a single spectator at a time, through the connection between a headset and a microphone.

All the textual material is improvised and recorded for use after the birth. By my own decision, I won't access the recordings until then. That second stage, after May, is not yet clear - just as the face of the newborn is not yet clear.
