Premiere - 9th to 19th April 2014 - Espaço Ribeira - Lisbon

Inertia, the kind spoken of by Galileo and Newton, the kind refuted by modern physicists, the kind of philosophical thought about contemporary society, the kind spoken of by Fernando Pessoa - this is the kind that takes us into the mechanics of the body. It's not about laziness, it's about the texture of comfort, when it's intimate and settles in, when it imposes itself and is outside the house.
To bring Inertia to the stage is perhaps to turn this comfort into a conflict, to summon the thinking of science and philosophy to confrontation through theatre, understood as a space for dialogue, listening and hypersensitivity.
Inertia could be a gesture of thought: but it's four legs and two voices dancing.
